Madras HC scraps couple's claim of Dhanush as being their son
The Madras High Court has dismissed the case filed by an elderly couple who had claimed that actor Dhanush was their son.

Dhanush was involved in this bitter paternity battle. Finally, the case has been dismissed by the Madurai bench of the Madras High Court.

An elderly couple, Kathiresan and Meenakshi, had claimed that the Raanjhanaa actor was their third son who had run away from home to enter films, and also sought maintenance of Rs 65,000 from him.

The court had earlier suggested a DNA test to resolve the issue, but Dhanush and his lawyers had declined the suggestion. The actor had requested the case to be quashed and had insisted that the entire statement is false, highlighting the maintenance sought and claiming that the couple was being used to blackmail and extract money from him.

Last month, Dhanush was instructed by the court to undergo a medical examination to verify his identification marks.
However, the results of the same proved to be inconclusive.
